Early Years
When you are asked, or talk about early video games, the one game that should come to mind is Pong. There is no better place to start than the first video game. But this is actually a common misconception. The first home video game was just a dot on the TV you could control. The video game was only available on the Magnavox Odyssey. The Odyssey only worked on a Magnavox TV, and was not a commercial success. So you may be wondering how did you play with just a dot, well instead of graphics they used overlays.
Bit Wars
Lets jump back to the mid 1980's. Specifically to the time known as the Bit wars. This is the time when video games were getting more popular and common. But there was one driving factor behind it all, bits. Now what are bit's, I don't know, and honestly no one really knew, but they didn't care. All that we needed to know is that the more the bits the better the video games looked, and preformed. So every company tried their best to produce consoles with more bits than all of their competitor's.
Current
Now video games have come a long way from where they were before. From dots on a screen to semi realistic graphics. Our videogames to day would blow peoples minds if they came out back then. We have created whole worlds we can explore and experience. We allowed you to be with your favorite video game characters in augmented or virtual reality.
